URA Staff Member Paid Shs29m For Photocopying Documents
Uganda Revenue Authority official was rewarded with Shs29million for photocopying documents of the oil tax case.
Paul Ojambo told the parliamentary committee investigating the controversial six billion shilling pay-out that he worked late into the night, way beyond the normal working hours and therefore deserved the reward.
He was appearing before the commission with five other junior officers in URA who were beneficiaries of the now controversial payment.
"I would leave office late and such date was December 4, 2013," Paul Ojambo said when he was tasked to explain why he was rewarded.
Paul Ojambo's response prompted COSASE chairman Abdu Katuntu to ask whether Photocopying wasn't an ordinary job which Ojambo used to do.
"Yes it was in a sense that it was after 5 o'clock," Ojambo responded to Katuntu's question.
