{UAH} robots
Frank Mujabi/Gwokto,
-- I have just a few minutes ago bumped on robots being tested on the streets of Lewisham in south London. This is for delivering takeaway foods and shopping. It is just like s small motorised pram or toy car. They are digital and controlled by satellite, the one I saw was being followed by a human to see how it performs in walking on the pavements, dodging people, obstacles, traffic etc. Truly amazing. I followed this one right up to a door where it was delivering. It even dodged me on the pavement.
I think it is a matter of time before robotic technology replaces millions of working people. With this robot, there will be no more need for delivery drivers. The obvious problems will be with vandalism and criminality- even if they are fitted with cameras, I cant see how they will really work in inner city areas of London, some of which are urban jungles.
