Chief of Military Intelligence (CMI) bosses are in trouble for conning the joined SSP Nixon Agasirwe about USD 20000 to help him escape from custody in Makindye military Barracks.

According to a security source, Nixon currently in jail together with others on charges of kidnap and espionage had sought an asylum in Southern Sudan where he owns a home.

It is indicated that the plot to help Nixon was hatched by CMI operatives who were transferring him from Makindye military barracks to Mbuya CMI headquarters where he was being taken for further interrogation.

It is further reported that the operatives who told him that they would let him free on the way from interrogation asked him to bring USD 100,000.

"He contacted his people who raised that money and he gave it to one of the officers from CMI so that they can pick him from custody and take him to CMI and on the way they release him. They ate his money but he wasn't helped".

Source added that, one of the officers guarding the suspects in fear took the information to commandant military police Brig. Sabiti Muzeyi who immediately called the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) Gen David Muhoozi and CMI boss Col Abel Kandiho for an emergency security meeting.

The meeting later resolved that Nixon Agasirwe and Faizal Katende be transferred to Luzira Maximum prison with immediate effect.

It is further reported that several CMI and military police officers have been arrested for plotting the mission.

Military police also transferred ASP Magada to Kiggo prison and remained with SCP Joel Anguma who is reported to be not doing well healthy wise.

Nixon and eight others were recently charged before the Makindye based Court Martial in Kampala for allegedly kidnapping former Rwandan president, Paul Kagame's bodyguard.

The suspects who also include Rwandans and Congolese nationals appeared in the Court Martial and were charged with conspiracy with Rwanda to kidnap Lt Joel Mutabazi in Uganda in 2013.

They were arrested by the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI), which is also hunting for three others.

They are to be taken back to Military court on November 20 this year.
