{UAH} I Don’t Want To Be Killed Like Afande Kaweesi – Kirumira Warns Bosses

ASP Muhammed Kirumira a.k.a 'Mwoyo gwa gwanga' has warned his former bosses to let him leave because he fears he might lose his life like former AIGP Afande Felix Kaweesi.

Kirumira, who has been warned not to leave the force revealed that many of his colleagues are tired of serving in a police force that baby sits criminals and demonises it's officers, and are pondering leaving including those at the level of police commissioners.

Commenting on Kayima's letter, Kirumira said, "Kayima is free to talk that way because that is what he is paid to do. But if you sit Kayima down privately, he will tell you totally different things, he is held hostage. Right now, he is speaking what his bosses want to hear. Very many police officers, even at the level of commissioners, are very bitter with the way police is currently run."

Concerning the police act that Kayima quoted, Kirumira said that the act was twisted to serve the interests of those torturing him. "I have served the force for 12 years, the Police Act says that one can leave after serving five years, so I don't regret my actions and no one is going to stop me," Kirumira charged.

The Grapevine talked to Kirumira in a one on one interview, and this is what he told us:

The Grapevine: Afande, is it true you have resigned from the force?

Kirumira: Yap, here is my resignation letter

The Grapevine: As one of the senior officers in the force, why have you thrown in the towel in that manner?

Kirumira: I'm fade up of working for greedy bosses who never appreciate but instead plot to destroy officers who are serving the force with sincerity. We love our country and we serve police out of passion and nationalism, but it hurts to see criminals giving commands to qualified police officers.

The Grapevine: Was it a right decision?

Kirumira: of course, and I don't regret.

The Grapevine: In your post you talked about divisionism, would you clarify more on that

Kirumira: The force is full of divisions. There are people who want to see others fail by using criminals to pin competent hard-working police officers, that's why I can no longer risk serving in it any more. My family still needs me, I don't what to die like Kaweesi.

The Grapevine: So what next after your resignation.

Kirumira: I'm educated enough, there are other jobs I can do out of the force which are even more paying than working for mafias.  I want to leave the force since its clean and I'm dirty. I still want to hold my reputation as a freedom fighter and this is a decision I will not change permanently.

Kirumira came to the limelight after fighting notorious criminals in Nansana, a Kampala suburb.
