DCI Arrests Geoffrey Mutemi Manzi Trying to Escape With 7 Girls at JKIA
  • DCI detectives on Wednesday confirmed that they had arrested a Kenyan man, Geoffrey Mutemi Manzi, at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

In a statement seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the DCI stated that detectives pounced on the alleged human trafficker as he was in the process of leaving the country with seven girls on Tuesday evening.

The seven girls (five Tanzanians and two from Uganda) were rescued before they could board the plane.

"The victims were rescued at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport as they were preparing to leave the country for Oman," the DCI conveyed.

The incident comes barely ten days after sleuths busted a human trafficking racket in Nairobi's Uhuru Estate.

Among those arrested were ten Ugandans and a woman (Dorothy Katunge) in the sting operation.

Immigration officials declared that the Ugandan nationals would be repatriated to their country.

A similar scenario was witnessed in Nairobi's where 12 Chinese nationals were arrested in what was believed to be a brothel.

Interior CS Fred Matiang'i has in recent days led the deportation of at least 2,000 illegal immigrants in an operation to clean up the public service and Kenyan job market targetting foreigners without work permits.

Among the deported are more than 60 hotel managers and businessmen who sneaked into the country and work without authentic permits.
