{UAH} Uganda Airlines -- Yes, we should have known better

Uganda Airlines -- Yes, we should have known better
-- Just as the hopes of many Ugandans about the revival of the 1970s-1990s national carrier were being raised, they have been dashed by the revelation that the resurrected Uganda Airlines might, in fact, be a private ENHAS-like consortium of politically-connected families and individuals.
From the reaction I see on social media today, it seems this new revelation about Uganda Airlines 2.0 is the final straw for Ugandans who thought they were past being shocked by the nepotism and greed.
The only question left to ask is: In whose names is that presidential jet or the property that is State House Entebbe?
When the NRM government finally leaves power, the fundamental change that Museveni promised at his first swearing-in ceremony in 1986 will come to pass.
Ugandans will be so badly scarred, so shocked by the scale at which their country was looted to the bone, that they will forever be distrustful of "liberators", politicians and populists.
Causing Ugandans a complete loss of faith in government will have been Museveni's single greatest achievement.
That will be the unintended fundamental change.
In the next five years, we might even start hearing the previously unthinkable -- a majority of Baganda saying Milton Obote was a better president than Yoweri Museveni.
