{UAH} With minimum wage, Uganda will attain middle income status

By Kevin Seguya

For the Ministry for Gender, Labour, and Social Development to set a minimum wage every year isn't a bad idea.
The challenge, however, is making the law known so that even a worker outside urban centres are aware of it. This is where the ministry needs to use social media platforms depending on the status of the different areas because some of the workers are not educated.
The idea of a minimum wage is a good one as it will protect workers from exploitation by their employers for whatever reason. This is really going to enable workers to earn a deserving salary that will enable them to save some money with which they can plan for their futures. It will also bring fairness and improve their standard of living.

The ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development has created a law that is going to be one of the key things to take Uganda to the middle income status because if the people's standards of living get better that means that the economy is growing, the government is really fighting to see that our country's economy rises.

With such developments, I can see Uganda reaching a middle income status faster.
