Isis bride Shamima Begum's legal battle to rescind the cancellation of her British passport has began.. Unsurprisingly, her lawyers have chosen to go on the attack. They are not denying that she was a terrorist, but claim it is the UK government, and in particular  Tower Hamlets Council, the district of London in which she lived, and which has responsibility for the welfare of children in its area, that are the ones to blame. The lawyers claim the government failed in its responsibility to protect Shamima from being indoctrinated and brainwashed by terrorists. They claim they  threw Shamima to a human waste dump and left her there to rot.  It is not Islam, but the UK government that should shoulder the blame for the monster that Shamima turned out to be. 

Shamima's lawyers have to be on the front foot because more damning evidence has now emerged about Shamima's precise role in Isis. It seems she was in the morality police of Isis and worked as  an enforcer or guard, responsible for looking after captives and prisoners and enforcing discipline. There are suggestions that she might in fact have been an Executioner, engaged in beheadings.
