{UAH} DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN KEEP QUIET IN COURT WHEN ASKED QUESTIONS?

DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN KEEP QUIET IN COURT WHEN ASKED QUESTIONS?

Did you know that you can decide to keep quiet in court when asked questions even if you are the person that they are accusing of having done something wrong (the accused)?

The law basically protects the person from reporting themselves when they are under circumstances where they have been put on the spotlight to answer a question. One cannot be punished for not wanting to answer a question.

The reason for this is to save the accused person from self-incrimination. (so that the person does not 'report' themselves in their words).

The reason for this is that everyone is seen to be innocent under the law until it is proven that they are guilty. It is not your job to prove yourself guilty so the law cannot force you to answer so that you report your guilt.

Allaah gives the best to those who leave the choice to Him."And if Allah touches you with harm, none can remove it but He, and if He touches you with good, then He is Able to do all things." (6:17)
