{UAH} The Romans invented concrete and used it to build a lot of their artefacts
Most movies produced these days always have a taste of Roman or Greek methodology about them,
Rome isn't just one of the biggest empires in the preindustrial era, neither is it only about the Roman Catholic church, but there are a lot of other interesting facts about Rome and we will highlight a few.
1) Traditionally, Rome is believed to have been founded in 753BC. Two brothers who were raised by a she-wolf fought each other in mortal combat to determine who would be the emperor and Romulus defeated his brother Remus and created Rome. We are still wondering where the two brothers came from initially or who the shewolf was but let's not argue with history.
2) Rome was the first empire to build an extensive road network stretching thousands of kilometer, that is why we have the saying 'all roads lead to Rome', that is outdated now by the way.
3) The Romans invented concrete and used it to build a lot of their artefacts which are still standing till today. So when next you hear of the Colosseum, just know it was made of concrete.
4) Have you ever heard of the gladiators? People who fought with themselves and wild animals in the Roman Colosseum for fun. It is believed that a total of 500,000 people as well as over a million wild animals lost their lives in the Colosseum during those fights. #Respect.
5) The Romans used the Bible narration of how Solomon built the temple in the Bible to build the Sistine Chapel which still stands in the Vatican City. So if you want to know what Solomon's temple looked like, visit the Sistine Chapel.
6) The first ever shopping mall was built in Rome in 110AD. So when next you drop into a shopping mall, thank the Romans for such a wonderful idea.
7) There are over 280 fountains in current day Rome and most of them were erected long ago using concrete which is why they still exist.
8) Rome was built on seven hills, that is why till today we say that Rome was not built in a day, we wonder how many years it took to construct a city on seven hills.

"War is nothing but a continuation of political intercourse, with a mixture of other means. Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest."
