I ALWAYS PROVOKE MY HUSBAND TO BEAT ME TO SHOW THAT HE LOVES ME SO MUCH, IS IT LEGAL?

Nakamwate was convinced by her fellow women in the village that 'a man who doesn't beat you does not love you' according to their culture. She therefore made it a do or die mission to provoke her husband to beat her weekly or else she would accuse him of not loving her and sleeping with other women in the neighbourhood. This time she was given a beating that would have left her dead if it had not been for the intervention of her neighbours. Upon arrest, the husband claimed his wife loves to be beaten to proof his love for her therefore he can't be blamed or punished.
How many of us think that Nakamwate's husband is right and the police men should take away their 'lugezigezi' and leave him alone in peace or he is wrong and should be punished?
