{UAH} WHAT DO U KNOW ABOUT SINGAPORE??

1) Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is an island city-state in Southeast Asia. It has a total area of 719 square km. Its capital and largest city is Singapore (city-state). English, Tamil, Malay and Chinese are its official languages. For emphasis, it is smaller than Sokoto in Nigeria.

2) More than 80% of Singapore's population lives in government-subsidized houses while the home ownership rate in Singapore is a staggering 92%. The Nigerian government can learn a lot from them.

3) In Singapore, public chewing of gum is prohibited and you could be arrested for doing that. Bad news for chewing gum lovers.

4) Singapore has a compulsory military enrollment scheme for all males aged 18 which lasts at least 2 years. This helps to teach them military survival skills.

5) Singapore is the least corrupt nation in Asia and the 5th least corrupt nation in the world, maybe Nigeria needs to import leaders from this tiny nation.

6) To curb global warming, in Singapore, to reduce the number of cars, car owners have to pay double the price they bought they cars in taxes and dues.

7) For its small size, Singapore is the fifth largest importer of arms, no wonder no one looks for their trouble.

8) Singapore's national anthem is written at the back of their $1000 dollar notes and the government gives everyone a note periodically so they don't forget the anthem.

9) Singapore literally translates to Lion-City and it one of the three remaining city states in the world after Monaco and Vatican.

10) The world's first night zoo is located in Singapore, it is only open at night.
