What I think is the most comprehensive law was the Town and Country
planning Act 1951. Land is not taken from owners but utilized in
accordance with society and physical planning needs.
Those communities that want to stay can do so and fully partake in
commercial farming or share in revenues.
Why?
How do you solve the Demographics as per land needs? Uganda's
population density currently is over 44 million making it almost 220
people per Km2.
If you look at the metrics (% land needs) one asks:
Do we have enough land for;
1. Land for food production
2. Land for Human Settlements (commercial, residential and industrial
land= Real Estate)
3. Conservation and Ecological (flora and fauna (forests and wildlife) )
4. Infrastructure (airports, roads, power lines, water, sewer etc.)
This is where I think we should focus.
