{UAH} Why is Donald Trump bothering Jeff Bezos?

Jon Mixon, Murican.Because he's not very bright, and he views Jeff Bezos in the same manner that he does his other "enemies".

That is likely another serious error in judgment on Donald Trump's part.

Why?

1. Bezos is the perhaps the wealthiest person on Earth - Bezos could conceivably finance a soft money campaign to bury Trump. If Bezos threw a billion dollars at the 2020 presidential election, Trump would lose handily.
2. Bezos owns the Washington Post- While he supposedly has been "hands off" in his ownership, he also hasn't directed the Post to "step into" Trump. The Post can dig up so many things on the man that even his wife wouldn't vote for him.
3. Bezos can pointedly discuss the decision to give Microsoft the DoD cloud contract - Frankly Amazon not getting the contract looks "funny". If Bezos presses the matter, this can open a whole new can of worms and Trump doesn't need more problems.
4. The unknown - Frankly there are so many things out there that could damage Trump politically that he really should just leave Jeff Bezos alone. Trump is vulnerable in so many areas and Bezos or his subordinates could come at him in so many different ways that he could find himself actually fighting two election battles: One against Joe Biden and a secret one financed by Bezos.

It's idiotic to pick a fight with a multibillionaire unless you plan to take things as far as they will go. Trump is bluffing; however he doesn't have the skills for that and he can't read Bezos' "tells". That's a recipe for losing everything.
