{UAH} BESIGYE: GOVT PAID MOB TO BURN MY HOUSE AFTER KILLING BOBI IN ARUA

Dr. Kizza Besigye was last night hosted by Med Nsereko on his popular Kiriza oba Gana program on CBS. The retired Colonel gave his views on many things including the extent of his relationship with Bobi Wine. He said they have always talked with Bobi Wine even before he became MP "and we continue talking quite regularly because our friendship predates his coming to politics." Besigye said this strong  relationship is bad news to NRM whose agents mostly using CBS and NBS TV have concetrating on creating a wedge between him and Bobi. He said any misunderstandings between him and Bobi Wine should be avoided because it will weaken rather than strengthen the opposition.

Besigye added that efforts to split him from Bobi Wine have been on and that the NRM government and 5th columnists within the opposition tried hard to use both Arua and Bugiri by-elections to ferment direct confrontation between his crowd and that of Bobi. "But because as I told you the system has almost collapsed, there is nothing they can plan without the same leaking to us. We get to know. In the case of Arua, the plan was to kill Bobi Wine and then immediately arrest him and charge him with being complicit in that murder. "It was a serious plan and all was being planned by the state but the bullet caught Yasiin Kawuma the driver. They had even hired a mob that would raid my home in Kasangati and burn it down. The world would be told those are Bobi Wine's supporters avenging his murder by Besigye" the veteran leader said. "You see Mr. Museveni keeps talking about Kawukumi in the security forces but he doesn't know how it got there. I can tell you it's as a result of our successful efforts to infilitrate the system that Mr. Museveni sees Kawukumi everywhere he turns."

Besigye said he has survived all these and many other traps by the state not because he is personally very smart but because of God's grace. He said with the 5th columnists getting increasingly exposed, alot of clandestine effort was already being undertaken to deepen understanding and cooperation among change-seeking forces in the New Year 2019.

He said he was confident the Museveni government, which he said is broke and has nervously been lobbying the WB and IMF for emergency assistance to fix the economic crisis, would soon collapse and people get back their power. He said whereas he has ultimately not managed to oust Museveni, his humble contribution hasn't been in vain as there is increased civic awareness among Ugandans.

Besigye also said he can't against the People Power slogan because it's an effort to politically hirtherto apathetic sections of the population and in any case it's one of the many movements inspired by his relentless struggles. He rejected claims by one of the callers that he was mentored by Nasser Sebaggala in the business of fighting for freedom. "I was self-driven by desire to live in a free country. I was working well in Kenya as a doctor and out of my own conviction I said let me return home and fight for freedom. It was personal conviction and I was never lured by anyone," Besigye said. He said the struggle for genuine political freedom in Uganda has been on for more than 100 years and the fact that it has never succeeded is collective failure and not his alone "because I only came up to supplement on what others were doing and had been done since the days of Augustino Kamya." He refused to discuss the fracas of COSASE leadership saying that would be diversionary because "that Parliament was captured by Mr Museveni and it doesn't have any power." Instead he said people should concetrate on the bigger struggle to free the country from what he called Junta. "Once that's achieved we shall have a new country and opportunity to revive our institutions like Parliament." He said the support to defeat Museveni in the ballot box is there but more effort should go into empowering citizens to make it risky for elections to be rigged again.
