BETTY NAMBOOZE BAKIREKE!
There has been numerous social media discussions, mixed angry demeaning insinuations, or very provocative accusations on this very seasoned politician or our times & our serious opinions not granted chance to deliberate on her probably at once.
True Betty Nambooze Bakireke has been very controversial & sometimes very un predictable, but not on principles. Anyone demeaning BNB then knows no the value of precious hardened metals! She could falter on actions but never on principles and love fir her country.
I have never met BNB physically, or been in any forum, platform or direct debate inclusive of her person. But I have followed her journey, her ideological reasoning, mindset, her struggles against dictatorship, her bravery against social injustices & of nation building since the times of popular program " Madam teacher mu class" I think it was moderated by Hon Kasibante. As a young political science student I compiled I list of value politicians, just for a project with my late professor Mujaju, but BNB in any schools of political theory has remained my true specimen.
BNB went hihg in ranks of our hearts not by politicking but by hard work, precision and articulation. I love good speakers but I admire pple who speak sense. BNB speaks sense even in her believed traitor status. She has been to prison after a stage managed corruption stunt, that didn't pull off ( of 200,000) Ugandn shillings, hiihii very ridiculous a case I tried to follow only out of desire to study political thought, she has survived kidnapps & at worst been maimed for life in her spine. How bad can a person fake just for showbiz! Get me not wrong Hon BNB is human, like the rest of us, she could have committed errors or even mistakes, she could also like any human have some selfish interests trust me she will remain a darling, an icon & an embodiment of liberation to this country. And I repeat this she will hold value, high value 200 folds more than Mao & such other Ugandans, who I hear & read are feeling so hurt to even give her a DP card! very ridiculous !
BNB and Lukwago joined ranks with my neighbor , Senyondo, and many youths who subscribe to my current political opinions, "the red line" use this as a bitter & violent attack on her contribution to the libertarian of this country. I too got bitter & hated this, irrespective of having supported Senyondo for donkey years. But I trust BNB has a reason & I can't ask her to explain coz it's her right. But any Ugandan who claims to love DP, or the red line, or hate this seven horned dictator m7, or love liberation and doesn't see value & love for BNB, iam sorry is a traitor of Uganda. Bullying BNB, in any form will never change her opinion, hihi she is not easy to intimidate. And shoving her aside is callous and stupid. U can't even equate BNB with Mao & many other upstarts who started making noise on liberating Uganda yesterday or for money or political posts in parliament. Let's separate agitation, populism & true nationalism, let us allow differences in our family (opposition) as we understand why intelligent pple like BNB, Lukwago, Abedi Bwanika etc do or did what they did. So that one day we don't regret or run to offer her an apology when it's too late. Nambooze is an inspiration to us, irrespective of her "believed" shortcomings. Which no one has ever bothered to understand! Long live BNB whatever your current political thought! We love you. Period.
