Government is in the process of buying 9,030,000kg (nine million thirty thousand kilograms) of posho at a wholesale price of UGX 3,900/= each.
Compare that cost with retail shops which are selling 1kg of posho at UGX 2,500/= (and remember that this price is also inflated because of #Covid_19).
So, off the 9,030 tonnes of posho that Government is buying, its corrupt officials have already made a difference of UGX 12,642,000,000/=.
Gov't budgeted for that money to [partly] feed 1.5 million people affected by #Covid_19 lockdown measures. Between today and 3rd April when Government started distributing the food, it claims to have fed [only] 92,000 people so far. At this rate, Government will take up to 3rd December 2020 to feed the 1.5M people.
