Lately, Kenya's president, Uhuru Kenyatta seems hellbent on demolishing every support base for his erstwhile Deputy, the wily William Ruto.

The brazen purge of Ruto's allies in Parliament, has sent shock waves in the country's body politic. Through a combined use of legislative maneuvering and sheer power of office, as head of the ruling Coaltion, Jubilee, Uhuru has felled key Ruto allies, as he prepares to install his preferred successor.

Presidential succession in Kenya has always been riddled with intrigue. This time around, however, Kenya is likely to experience another round of bloody inter-and-intra tribal warfare that will eclipse the 2007 Post Election Violence.

This is all because Uhuru had allowed Ruto to pretty much get away with all manner of official and personal misconduct. Kenyans will pay a high price for Uhuru's slow, decision-making.
