{UAH} We Shall Tear NRM Into Pieces, Party Mafias Warn M7 Ahead of 2021 Elections

A serious war has again erupted into the National Ruling Party (NRM) after a group of mafias who also double as old guards warned their Party Chairman President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni that they will tear their party into pieces if they do not get a cake a head of 2021 general elections, Spyreports has established.

Credible and reliable sources with in NRM Party told us that mafias issued the warning to their Party Chairman in one of the recent CEC meetings at State House in Entebbe. Insiders say old guards complained to the President how they built the party from scratches to where it is and that they have now been sidelined.

"Your Excellence, we have been in NRM for over 30 years but it's so painful to see that we have no any say in the party that we built," a source quoted one of the top guards saying during the meeting. Another source told us that some members also said all sensitive assignment and meeting of the party are attended by new people who have done nothing to the party.

"New people who have just entered politics on NRM ticket have taken over the party and us who have invested a lot of resources and time are seen as useless. We shall not accept this if it means tearing the party into pieces, we shall do it," another annoyed party member was heard fuming.

Sources further say some party members told the President if NRM does not support them to retain their Constituencies in 2021 elections, they would tear the party into pieces.

"We lost our seats in 2016 elections because the party did not support us. It supported new members and some of them lost to Opposition in the General elections and even those who won have done nothing to the party and even their chances of retaining the seats are slim," another top party guard was quoted saying.

We used to have a policy in NRM where the party would choose candidates to compete with opposition in general elections but that policy died a natural death and this has weakened our party, says another mafia.

Another top leader in the party said that NRM structure in Kampala has died and the party is just run by new people like Kusasira, Balaam, Bebe Cool, among others. "We have our leaders like Uhuru, Nyakana, Francis Babu who have really contributed a lot to the party but at the moment, they have no say in Kampala. All the activities and sensitive assignment are given to those young boys who have done nothing to the party. They are after money but have no NRM at heart," says another top mafia.

Sources further narrated to us that some top guards also complained that they no longer have access to see the President as they used to do. "It's so unfortunate that if we want to meet the President we must pass through young people like Balaam. Who is Balaam?  What has he done to the Party and even government at large," another NRM top leader fumed.

Sources say President Museveni promised to work on their issues and even promised to support them ahead of 2021 elections. Top NRM members who lost their seats in 2016 elections after being in parliament for over 25 years include Gen Kahinda Otafiire who was defeated by Captain Kahonda, Gen Jim Muhwezi who lost to FDC Fred Turyamuhweza, Fred Ruhindi lost to FDC Kabaziguruka, Kabakumba Matsiko lost to Lt Kasumba,Tashobya Stephen lost to Michael Kamugisha among others.
