{UAH} What if Nabillah is not interested in the FDC party ticket?

By Afunah Dixy TinTin

What if Nabillah is not interested in the FDC party ticket?

FDC has never fielded a candidate for the position of Kampala (Lord) mayor, or is it? Could it be that for all those years no single FDC member is interested in the position?

Going into the 2016 elections, Miles Rwamiti expressed interest in running for the position of Lord Mayor on the FDC ticket. Talking to Miles at the time, he said his intention had been to run for a relatively smaller post but when he learnt FDC hadn't fielded any candidate for the Lord Mayor position, he decided to go for it.

Fortunately Gen Mugisha Muntu who was the FDC President at the time gave him the party flag to contest for the position of Kampala Lord Mayor. He was unopposed......just like Nabillah.

He embarked on printing campaign posters but his plans were brought to an abrupt end by Semujju who was at loggerheads with with Muntu at the time over delaying to enthrone Besigye as the FDC flag bearer.

Semujju dressed as FDC Spokesperson called for a press briefing and he is on record saying FDC (the Katonga group/executive) was not going to support their party candidate who was Rwamiti in this case.

Instead, they were to support Lukwago, a candidate from another party. They were to do the same with Nabillah who had also been endorsed as the FDC candidate for Kampala Woman MP. Like Rwamiti, FDC was not going to support her, their own candidate. Instead they were to support an outsider, Shifrah Lukwago. Talk about being punished for being pro Muntu and bring rewarded for being pro Besigye.

Since contesting as Lord Mayor was a btw to Rwamiti, he easily pulled out. Nabillah stood her ground beat the Katonga group and allies badly.

If there is any achievement from Rwamiti's candidature, it is that it exposed the internal workings of FDC....that FDC can even go against their party candidates if they are not serving Besigye's selfish interests.

Like Rwamiti in 2015, I highly believe Nabillah was never interested in the FDC ticket. She simply wanted to expose FDC's double standards.... unprincipled.

To them, principles only apply when it favours a particular individual, who is Besigye in this case!

Just early this week FDC denied aspirants party tickets on grounds of "they are neither ANT or FDC....they are hanging on the fence", Semujju said. If a TV could answer back, I nearly asked, "Which Party doesn't Lukwago belong to?"

He is neither DP or FDC. He's just hanging on the fence. But has that ever stopped FDC from endorsing him? The whole trick is about Besigye. If anyone is ready to serve Besigye's selfish interests, you surely got that endorsement but if you stick to serving party interests, they would disown you just like it is done in NRM (rebel MPs).

Is it a coincidence that all those purged are only people not ready to serve Besigye's interests?

Ugandans is currently faced with two dictators. One in power and the other in opposition, mbu! It would be hypocritical to fight Museveni and people serving his selfish interests while sparing Besigye and people serving his selfish interests. It is here that I have found myself backing this gospel calling for the dislodging of Lukwago, Nambooze, Semujju etc. If it is what it takes to get rid of Besigye who is sometimes known as Museveni, so be it!
