Love Notes to our daughters- Note 3: Dear daughter, When I was getting ready to start my Masters' degree, an older male cousin kindly warned me: "You are going to have a hard time finding a husband. You are already a lawyer. Now you are going to do a Masters' degree?!" I smiled. I went ahead and got my Masters' degree. And then I did my PhD. I was not trying to prove anything to my cousin. I was simply fulfilling my heart's desires. Do not give up your dreams for fear of intimidating a man. Similarly, do not shrink yourself in order to fit into a fragile male ego. If your ambitions are too big for a man, then that is certainly not the man for you. And if his ego is fragile, then many things are bound to shatter it – whether it is your education or your career success or even simply, your joyfulness.
