{UAH} PRINCE KITAYIMBWA PASSES ON

EX-MUTEESA PASSES ON

Prince Sebastian Kambuli Kitayimbwa aka Mumiransanavu Mumirabisaanyi, a former Saza Chief, Muteesa of Mawogola has passed on at Byansi Hispital in Masaka.
Prince Kitayimbwa has been one of the senior princes of Obwakamuswaga bwa Kooki, was a Gombolola chief in former lost counties, Saza Chief Chief Mawogola, at the time of 1966 and hid Sir Edward Muteesa ll as he was escaping from Obote's forces to England via Burundi.
After 1971 coup, he fled the country to Rwanda, and came back with Wakombozi in 1979 and was names Saza Chief Maowogola. In 1981, he was transferred to Bukomansimbi, in 1985, he was promoted to District Administrative Secretary Mpigi, before he retired after the Okellos' coup.
He joined the Resistance Council/Committee system introduced by NRM/NRA in 1986 and rose to Councillor Masaka District Council representing Lwebitakuli Sub County, was the first Treasurer Ssembabule District Council.
After the restoration of traditional institutions in 1993 and Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi ll was crowned, Kitayimbwa was reappointed by the Kabaka as Omwami owessaza Muteesa Mawogola until he retired and was nominated by the Kabaka in Buganda Lukiiko.
During 2015, talks, Prince Kitayimbwa, Haji Abdul Nadduli, Omutaka Naduli Kibaale and Bishop Yokana Mukasa intervened as dangerous substitutes that paved way for entrenching in the constitution, provisions for regional governments.
