Uganda's laws allow members of Parliament to change political parties 12 months to the general election. from which there were initially elected without losing their seats necessarily.
When you follow the trend, you realise that every time defections happen, they are motivated by selfish interests; to either maintain their grip on elective positions or join a force that has either captured power or is likely to. 90% of all those leaving DP, UPC FDC to follow Bobi Wine don't necessarily believe in his ideology. But rather believe that identifying with him can win them seats.
