{UAH} 10 Injured, 5 motorcycles burnt as Ssembabule, Rakai NRM primaries turn brutal
The Injured in Ssembabule engaged in browls between the different constesting camps in Mawogola and Lwemiyaga. The District which houses Ministers Sam Kahamba Kuteesa and Joy Kabatsi has been the epicentre for violence during all NRM primaries.
In Lwemiyaga, supporters of Joy Kabatsi and those of the incumbent Theodero Ssekikubo are struggling to appease voters for support in the next primaries while Museveni's brother Sodo Kaguta and Shartsi Musherure Kuteesa, daughter to Foreign Affairs Minister Sam Kahamba Kuteesa are fighting hard to win the Mawogola North contest in the NRM Primaries.
All camps have deployed security forces to ensure security. The injured people are in Masaka regional referral hospital and its subsidiary hospitals and health facilities in Ssembabule.
The Chaos prompted the NRM electoral commission to withdraw its staff in Ssembabule for fear of retribution. The NRM Electoral commission also postponed the primaries in the area to a later date.
In Rakai, supporters of the current Buyamba County Amos Mandela are accused to burning five motorcycles, belonging to opponent Kisoboka Gyaviira. They are both contesting in the NRM primaries.
The regional Police Commander for Masaka Enock Abaine recently said, police will arrest all those who engage in electoral malpractice, violence and theft. He warned all parties to ensure peace and security within the different electoral areas during this season to avoid prosecution.
