{UAH} DID MUSEVENI 'CONTRACT COVID-19' ON TRIP TO TANZANIA??
DID MUSEVENI 'CONTRACT COVID-19' ON TRIP TO TANZANIA??

By CHANGE OF GUARDS
"Yesterday I was supposed to go to Jinja, I didn't go because the mask affected my voice. One type of mask affects my voice. When I went to Tanzania I had put on a very strong one, and when I came back voice was affected. Although it is not yet back to full health, it has improved greatly."
Museveni - September 20, 2020
"....he called yesterday and said we have Corona but I don't want to be the reason to delay development of Uganda and Tanzania. He informed me that he wanted to come to Tanzania wearing a face-mask. I told him why not, you can carry even a blanket if you can provided we sign this agreement for the better of our countries."

President Magufuli - September 13, 2020
On September 13, 2020 Museveni led his delegation to Tanzania to sign the $ 3.5b crude oil pipeline project agreement. After landing he didn't shake Magufuki's hands, stood two metres away from the welcoming Tanzanian delegation, sat far apart from Magufuli and maintained his mask on except when he was giving his speech. Throughout the two hours visit, Museveni's delegation and security detail maintained their facemasks on but their hosts had nothing to do with masks, social distancing or any any such COVID-19 precautionary measures.
It is reported that upon landing in Uganda, Museveni subjected his entire delegation to compulsory COVID-19 testing before sending them into quarantine centres. Tanzania stopped reporting COVID-19 cases on April 19 when the country had already recorded 509 infections, 183 recoveries and 21 deaths. Instead Magufuli declared three days of national fasting and praying to God for help over the COVID-19. Around early July 2020 Magufuli declared a Covid-19 free Tanzania.
"We decided to pray to God to save us from Corona Virus. God has answered our prayers, Tanzania is safe and that is evident by the many airlines that are bringing in tourists. The good thing is that people have started to understand the reality that Tanzania a safe place. Our enemies will speak a lot, but the reality remains that Tanzania is safe and that is why none of us is putting on a mask. Does it mean we are not afraid of dying? No, it's because Corona Virus has been eliminated."
Since then, COVID-19 is something alien in Tanzania. In August the Tanzania Assemblies of God (TAG) church honored Magufuli with an award in recognition of his outstanding measures in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. TAG ArchiBishop Barnabas Mtokambali said;
"......it was all by God's grace. You are our leader, we believe that through God we have can have candid answers."
Magufuli appealed to the foreign delegates who were attending the same function to help testify that the country was indeed COVID-19 free upon return to their respective countries.
In Uganda, Museveni has maintained a sham politically motivated total lockdown. On May 12 he moved his Parliament to pass a motion paying tribute to his exemplary, visionary and insightful leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic. His COVID-19 manipulations had initially targeted Tanzania as the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic. Tanzanian truck drivers were unfairly targeted. A special surveillance of the common borderline was instituted. All this was because Tanzania had outrightly rejected following his line of total COVID-19 lockdown. When former Tanzania's President Mkapa died around late July 2020, Museveni couldn't risk travelling to Tanzania for the burial. Hardly, two months later, the crude oil pipeline project has left him with no option but to swallow his pride and travel to Tanzania.
Now he is just being diplomatic by claiming the the facemask affected his voice instead of directly saying that he contracted COVID-19. All this is meant to put off questions from Ugandans as to how Tanzania is thriving without any COVID-19 measures. He is playing the scare game.
