Amuriat Pledges Increase of Salary for Teachers

The Forum for Democratic Party (FDC) presidential candidate, Patrick Oboi Amuriant, has promised to increase the salaries of all primary and secondary teachers.

Amuriant was addressing residents of Kabilai sub county Butebo district, He said permanent primary teachers will receive Sh 800000 and Sh 1.2m for secondary school teachers.

He also promised to increase the pay for all local council chairpersons to 140000 and sh280,000 for LC11 which he said would be in recognition of their good work communities.

Meanwhile Amuriant's rallies were marred by tear gas and as a result, dozens of his supporters sustained serious injuries with others hit by teargas canisters and rushed to hospital in critical conditions.
