Highly placed intelligence sources have intimated that Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni has tasked Major General Sam Kavuma to oversee the manipulation of the upcoming elections, to swing the outcome in his favour.

This comes after Bobi Wine's overwhelming countrywide support spread panic in Museveni's camp, after sending strong signals of an imminent electoral upset. Wary of experiencing an embarrassing electoral drubbing, Museveni has turned to his last only fall back – the UPDF.

According to the intelligence sources, Gen. Sam Kavuma's strategy is to employ all means at his disposal to manipulate the electoral process, including voter bribery, elimination of uncooperative electoral staff, ballot-box stuffing and interference with the ballot tallying process by hacking into the electoral commission software.

Gen. Sam Kavuma, whose full name is Samuel Kavuma, is currently the UPDF Deputy Commander of Land Forces, a position he has been serving in since December 1, 2017. Museveni created this new position specifically to accommodate Sam Kavuma, to appease the Baganda as part of his desperate strategy to salvage political support in the central region.

Museveni believes that Sam Kavuma would use his influence as a Muganda to infiltrate Bobi Wine's camp where his agents would dish out huge sums of money to corrupt supporters to either not go to the polling stations at all or to vote for Museveni.

According to the intelligence sources, Sam Kavuma's operations are adequately facilitated, both financially and logistically, so as to see the mission through. Museveni intends to use this strategy as a supplementary plan to avoid further violations that would attract so much international scrutiny that would lead to the nullification of his win.
