{UAH} Kateshumbwa, Musherure takes parliamentary seats as NRM flexes muscles in Western Uganda

The results show that NRM's Thomas Tayebwa will represent Ruhinda North, Mitooma District in parliament.  Tayebwa who got 18,341 votes beat independent Moses Twimukye (2,297 votes) and FDC's Nelson Nkwene (545 votes).

Former Uganda Revenue Authority's (URA), Dicksons Kateshumbwa has been elected to be Sheema Municipality's Member Of Parliament with 17,466. He beat independent Elioda Tumwesigye, who attained 13,738, the second time in this election period. Tumwesigye stood against Kateshumbwa for the NRM flag bearer position.

The Women in Sheema district will be represented by Rosemary Nyakikongoro.

Dr Charles Ayume who beat Hon Evelyn Anite in the NRM primaries to stand on behalf of the party has taken Koboko Municipality.

NRM leaning independent Shartsi Musherure will represent  Mawogola North constituency in Sembabule. Musherure, who is also the daughter of Sam Kuteesa the Minister of Foreign affairs, earlier had a brutal race with President Museveni's brother Godfrey Kaguta who pulled out a day before the elections.

In Bukonzo west, FDC took the spot with Atkins Katusabe who garnered 36,386 votes in a race tight race with NRM's Crispus Kiyonga who got 28,520.
