This plain statement by the outgoing Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, should have come out soon after the January 6 attempted coup. But it serves to make it clear how dangerous President Trump is to the national security of the United States.

The in-coming administration has a clear and urgent course of action to take against the insurgents: give them a tight ultimatum to turn themselves in to Washington, DC police. If they could afford to fly from far flung locations to the nation's capital to create mayhem, they sure should be able to fly back to Washington DC to present themselves to law enforcement.
