{UAH} NOTHING HAS CHANGED SINCE 2001

By Nasasira Barnabas Kifefe

Gen. Museveni  is using the same script of violence against his opponents since the 12th March   2001  violent sham elections . That were conducted under the abuses of civilians by the military and security organs.

Just like the past elections   the pre and post Election of  the recent  14th  January  sham Election hasn't been a smooth political  ride.

our citizens especially  we the oppressed  have lived in fear over the  on going  state  abductions by the state numberless drone and other security forces.

It's surprising that most of our people have  just opened  their eyes , forgetting the  past notorious  post-election and  it's  Abductions were our people have been  killed , inclusive of  musazi kifefe ( RIP) the  young brother  of president kizza Besigye  and some going to  exile .

All this has been happening in a dark world, since  social media hasn't been  available to spread the vital information as we are doing.

Without going deep , not to consider  other past sham Elections,  I will focus on the 2001 violent  sham elections, were  many supporters  of president kizza Besigye  of Reform Agenda  were abducted, tortured during the  campaigns and post Election.

After the sham Elections  the regime accused  president kizza Besigye and his colleagues  over their   rebellious attacks under  people's Redemption Army .

President kizza Besigye who had just returned from a four year exile in South Africa  was  arrested on 25th . Nov. 2005 as the regime accused him of being  it's political  head, his arrest  sparked off demonstrations in the country.

Many of our reform Agenda leaders and supporters  were arrested, killed, some ran to exile ( prayers  my  unmentioned people of Reform Agenda living  in exile and you are  reading this)

Just like col.  Muzoora  Edson  who died  in 2011,    many  didn't survive , my own former  director at valley college mzee William mukaira the Fdc  chairman Bushenyi District  by then,    was arrested and accused of treason  relating  to col muzoora Edson,s  arrival  in uganda ( long story cut short)

President kizza Besigye  who had ran for president of Uganda in the Election  or military operation of 12th   March 2001 was cheated by Gen. Museveni, with 27.8 per cent of the vote.

During the run-up to the election, reports of the arrest, assault and killing of president kizza Besigye's supporters were found among the sources.

A parliamentary committee of the Ugandan government investigated reports of violence during the presidential and  parliamentary  elections that were held between on 12th  March  2001  and concluded that the violence experienced in elections included physical assault and shooting, intimidation, abduction and detention of voters.

That 17 people were killed and 408 arrests were made as it was reported by East African  in 25th  September  2001.

Monitor of 10th Sept  2002 published  that the committee also reported that the Kalangala Action Plan, a notorious  group under the command of Kakooza Mutale, was noted for terrorising and intimidating President Kizza Besigye's and opposition parliamentary candidates' supporters.

The following reports of the arrests of  President Kizza Besigye's supporters were found among the sources consulted.

Kampala1 Netcom reported that Major Rabwoni Okwir, former head of president kizza Besigye's National Youth Desk and Western youth member of parliament, was arrested by Military Intelligence for his own safety on  24th Feb. 2001. Few days to the sham Election.

Okwir later said that he had been "tortured while in detention on 4th Mar. 2001.

The same news source also reported that Hajji Ramathan Muwonge of Makindye, a supporter of President kizza Besigye, was abducted by armed men and detained at Mbuya Military Barracks on  24th Feb. 2001 .

Kampala1 Netcom also reported that president kizza  Besigye's campaigner  the  late Hajji Nasser Sebaggala and MP Ken Lukyamuzi  the man were charged with incitement of violence.

Although they denied the charges on.17th Feb. 2001. The same report stated that Lt. Col.  Mande Samson

who is in exile, was arrested for jumping bail in connection with charges relating to terrorism but was later freed by the military court which ruled that his arrest had been illegal .

Before his arrest, Mande had made a statement on video saying  that he was being harassed because of his support for president kizza Besigye .

Additional information on the arrests of supporters of  president Kizza Besigye could not be found among the sources consulted. The Monitor of 3 October 2002. Said Uganda Committee on Violence Failed It's Homework.

Fellowcaptives, what  the regime  is doing, it was scripted decades ago.  And it has been happening   in every election and it's post Environment.

Civilians  being paraded in the military courts  , and other evils  done  were scripted decades ago

We need to pray for each other  as we keep pushing to subdue the Gun rule to people rule. As we phase this  notorious script.
