{UAH} NUP HAS TO APOLOGISE TO BESIGYE
By comrade Peter Sabiiti
After visiting the NRA rebels in the bush in 1984, William Pike went to see Lule in London. When he (Pike) told him that he had been with the rebels in Luwero, Lule wanted to know if the rebels were still singing his name "Twaggala Lule nga sente" as they had sang in 1979. William told him that the rebels were rather disappointed with the external wing which was not supporting them as they had expected. Lule was waiting for the war to be over so that he gets on the plane to Entebbe, walk on a red carpet to a waiting car to take him to state house as the president.
Pike wrote later that had Lule not died (in 1985), it was going to be hard for M7 to rule Uganda.
Had Lule stayed in Luwero with his fighters, this arrogance of Twalwaana would probably not have been there. Today I see many with the Lule mentality. They thought that after the tough and risky struggle that Dr Besigye had put against M7 for close to two decades, M7 was so weak that they could just sprint and snatch power from him. Unfortunately, it's now proved to them that it's still not easy.
Some of them were so hostile to Dr Besigye that they could say "Besigye oyo asanidde obutwa" (I have this comment on my timeline). They thought M7 was already weakened and their stumbling block was the Besigye who had weakened M7. This election has shown them that the problem of Uganda is still too big for them to handle.
