{UAH} INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY IN PADER, TO BE CELEBRATED IN ANGAGURA S/C

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY IN PADER, TO BE CELEBRATED IN ANGAGURA S/C
Pader district is set to celebrate her international women's day which is scheduled to take place on Monday, 8th March 2021 at Angagura sub county.
Christine Lanyero, a resident of Angagura says the celebration will help fight against the high rate of gender based violence (GBV), that is prevalent in their area. She added that, women should rise up and fight their rights and put an end to GBV.
In an attempt to talk to the Gender and Development officer, Lucy Amito, she was busy at the time of covering the story.
The international women's day dates back to 8th March 1857 where women from various New York City factories protested over poor working condition. And, the first celebration was held in 1909 under the theme "An equal world is an enabled world."
