{UAH} MUSEVENI IS FULLY AWARE OF THE DUMPING OF VICTIMS OF KIDNAPS
Written by CHANGE OF GUARDS
Following the January 14 sham electoral process where Museveni declared himself winner, a series of violent schemes against the youthful opposition NUP supporters of Bobi Wine was set in motion. This was in fulfilment of his December 20, 2020 declaration against Bobi Wine and his supporters;
""I will capture Kyagulanyi's (Bobi Wine) group, you just wait. I work underground but I will finish them. As you are up shouting hooray. I am working underground."
Museveni unleashed his security machinery to carry out kidnaps, tortures, summarily executions and detention without trial in ungazetted places.
Amidst denials by his Minsters responsible, on February 13, Museveni came out to acknowledge that his security machinery was behind the disappearances. He ordered for the publicizing of the names of the victims;
"Their names should be made public so that this talk of disappearances is answered."
However, he did not say why the victims could not be subjected to the due process of the law. Following that directive, public pressure was contained but the kidnappings continued. It was only after a back and forth blame game between the army and the police that in March, the Minster of Internal Affairs was forced by Parliament to table a list of only 177 victims out of a total of about 450 victims. Even then, the Minister made it clear that the kidnappings would continue;
"Arrests will continue as long as there is reason and it is conducted reasonably."
Just like Museveni, the Minister did not disclose why the victims could not be subjected to the due process of the law and indeed the kidnappings have continued to this day.
Instead, in his March 7 press release that was conspicuously dated February 23, Museveni disclosed that 51 of the victims were being held by his son's Special Forces Command (SFC) but once again, he did not disclose why they had not been subjected to the due process of the law. Instead, since then, the country is witnessing some of the badly tortured victims being dumped in different bushes, swamps and plantations. The stories of the gruesome ordeals that they went through is shocking. They are blindfolded before they are released from secret dungeons and driven to those different locations. Before their captors set them free they are issued with a serious warning not to disclose their ordeals to anyone or else they risk being returned to the dungeons.
Unfortunately, gullible Ugandans are not calling on Museveni to intervene once again and stop his security goons from dumping their victims in bushes and on highways. Little do they know that having acknowledged that the victims were in his custody, nothing can happen to them without Museveni's approval. He is fully aware of the dumping of the victims.
