REVENGE IS A DISH BEST SERVED COLD

HAS President  Uhuru Kenyatta been playing Raila Odinga all along and will deliver the sucker  punch in the months left of 2021 or early 2022 to avenge for the destruction of Kanu and his defeat  in 2002?

Is Uhuru carrying out the dying wishes of Mzee Daniel Arap Moi to rectify the blunder he made by bringing  Raila into Kanu and Government  in 1998 effectively opening the door for Raila to be a national player and not  a Luo party leader?

Did Moi tell him if he can't make his Gideon his successor, he should at least devise a scheme to send back Raila to his regional party status?

Was the Handshake devised for that purpose ?

Did Uhuru purposely flout the law in setting up the BBI architecture so it could be shot down by the Bench?

With a whole department of law under the Attorney General, it seems scarcely possible no one pointed out to the President that he cannot start a popular initiative or fund it with State resources.

Or was this a game by Uhuru and Ruto to compromise Raila's  credentials, portray him as simply power hungry leader who forgot his basic interests after being lulled to sleep with illusions of power ?

I am one of many who held to the theory that this so-called feud between  Uhuru and Ruto was simply play-acting.

In an espionage novel called False Flags, the CIA wanted to plant one of their best men in the KGB. To do so, he had to have convincing credentials. 

He was fired from CIA. Then framed for murder and was on the run.  Caught, he was thrown into jail and beaten and tortured. 

He then escaped. Left  USA..The KGB found him in Europe and sent him to Moscow where he was asked to go on a special assignment  to Europe.

When he found out what he was assigned to find, he defected back to CIA and celebrated as a hero.

Was Ruto's "defection" set up complete with arrests of scores of his supporters in Kamata Kamata Friday?

There was a hollow ring in Uhuru's  promises to sel his "brother" to Mt. Kenya.

He was shown the den but never actually allowed to venture deep into the lion's lair. Githurai is Kikuyu but not Mt. Kenya. 

He should have suspected the githeri  servings were not cooked right when he was given Minor Commander or Maina Kamanda as his chief escort to Central.

All Maina did was take him for a weekend trip to his home in Nyandarua.

Whenever the handshake ship hit a storm and was wobbly, Raila was offered bunches of ripe Muranga yellow bananas, most recently the Skiza Event in SK Macharia's home.

Imagine of all the big shots in Kikuyuland Raila was always championed by David Murathe the Unelectable Peter Kenneth, Ditto, and Maina  Kamanda.

It was like his favorite whiskey being diluted strongly to lessen the impact.

Whenever the fishing boat was buffeted, David Murathe and Raphael Tuju rushed forward with talk of Jubilee forming a coalition with ODM. Simultaneously a faction of Jubilee that included Painter Joshua Kutuny ruled out, saying they need till December to put the Jubilee House in order.

For once the painter carried the day last month when even Cow Loyalist No. 1 Junet agreed Jubilee should focus on its own internal affairs while ODM dealt with branch polls.

To put out the Raila embers, Murathe  backed by Kamanda would periodically step forward to declare 2022 was the Mandela moment for Raila. 

The last assurance earlier this month was not good enough. A stronger shot of the whisky was needed to keep Raila calm.

It came in the last two weeks of talks between  Uhuru, Raila and OKA where  Uhuru reportedly urged OKA to let Raila be the flag bearer. 

Emphasis was laid to that by giving Raila a GK number plate four wheeler.  This persuaded ODM to believe that Uhuru was for Raila Presidency.

A lectern with R was devised along with a similar cap. He was advised to  wear suits and talk like a President. He made an attempt at that last week.

But  blinded by the Uhuru pleas to OKA, Raila and ODM were oblivious of moves by staunch Uhuru allies in Jubilee  who were calling for the ouster of Murathe and Tuju by August 30.

These Uhuru allies are the same ones who drove the purge of Ruto men in JP.

If Raila and ODM were not already power drunk, they would have wondered if Uhuru was sincere about Jubilee-ODM coalition? If so, how can there be a move to oust the main proponents of Raila for President  and coalition with ODM in JP?

Raila never learns from past mistakes.

All his big announcements  are made at the graveside and that's  where they end up eventually. 

Like his statement in Masika  Bondo yesterday he will run for President  instead of saying so in a Nairobi hotel. He was with four Luo lawmakers when he made the announcement. 

Finally, if anyone doubts that Raila is being played by Uhuru, he should read in the Sunday Press the statement by four Central  governors and other MPs and ex-MPs that they have never endorsed Raila.

Expect these by December to declare for Ruto.
