WHO IS A CASUAL WORKER?
The phrase 'Casual worker' comes from our employment laws that say this is a person who works daily and must receive their wages (payment) at the end (and the completion) of each day's work.
By law, a casual worker can only be employed for a maximum of six months. If at the end of 4 months they are still engaged to work, they must be treated as employees and given the same rights as employees such as leave days, and sick days and medical benefits that the company offers.
Did you know that a casual worker is also entitled to an employment contract after 4 months of work?
