Hon Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda on Radio Simba:
During the Togikwatako debate, I chaired a meeting as Opposition Chief Whip and we had different views. Allan Sewanyana, Francis Zzake & Robert Kyagulanyi said let's just go and throw punches at these people.
Abdul Katuntu, Winnie Kiiza & Latif Sebaggala said we can go and talk to Kadaga about this Togikwatako matter. In the end, it was all chaos & those who intended to put up sober arguments and debate with Museveni's people had nowhere to talk from.
In the end, it didn't work. It ended in chaos and those who planned to put up a sober debate had no opportunity as it became the tyranny of numbers; we threw punches until we ended up in jail."
He says nobody should use the arrogance to claim ownership of the struggle because everyone is free to oppose Gen M7 the way they like without seeking clearance from NUP simply because it came 2nd to Gen. Museveni. .
The Kiira Municipality MP says nobody should be required to first seek clearance from Robert Kyagulanyi to organize protests against Gen Museveni because the struggle shouldn't be personalized.
Nganda says those who have opted to wait for 2026 shouldn't prevent those wanting to stage anti-Museveni protests as early as now as opposed to waiting for the Electoral Commission Road Map.
He says: "I have been in this politics against Museveni for 10 years and we have never gone home to sleep after elections because the idea is that we shouldn't allow Museveni to rest comfortably in State House.
In 2011 after elections, we had walk to work and after 2016 we went to the streets to ensure Museveni isn't comfortable. Now after 2021 elections, we have nothing. I have been in opposition for 10 years and I'm not used to this.
Those who don't want to do anything are free to stay home and do their things. Let's respect those who have guts to go and do what they can. I sometimes miss to participate in these protests but I can't demonize those trying to do something."
