{UAH} Dear Ugandans/ my Acholi friends

Dear Ugandans/ my Acholi friends,

The grieving of the loss of a friend or relative is very hard. My sympathy goes out to all Jacob Oulanyah's friends, relatives, and others in equally stressful situations.

A lot of tribal statements have been said ever since Oulanyah passed away a few days ago, but I think Acholi leaders are simply standing up for their own in a time of need, death and speakership contest. Acholis usually love one another so much more than probably tribes in the central. Therefore, the angry tribal statements from them now should be excused for now because they are grieving; we all grieve differently.

Although I disagree with much of what NUP supporters propound, health tourism is costing us a lot of money, and I think that's why some Ugandans were demonstrating in Seattle over Oulanyah's treatment abroad. I suggest we stop tribaliasing common sense arguments -- If we adequately equip our hospitals back home, train good doctors, then there would be no reason for VIPs to seek treatment abroad. There's a health crisis in the country: fake doctors, bad hospitals, less funding, etc., and something needs to be done about it urgently.
Finally, there is no easy way to die unless it be to quietly die of old age in your own bed, asleep at night. We only pray that God takes us when He's happy with us. If Olan Oulanyah was poisoned, as the father alleges, universal justice will see the perpetrators burning in some sort of hell forever before any possible recycling.

A lot of northerners, more than most, know what a fragile hold we have on this thing called life, considering what they went through with the LRA war. On the one hand, our bodies are amazingly resilient; on the other, astonishingly fragile. But death is written on all of us, and it will happen.

For now, lets stop dividing ourselves over tribes, burry our brother, Oulanyah, and then plan for Uganda again.
