NUP/People Power's SSAJJALYABEENE Kigozi Appointed RDC Mpigi District

President Museveni has appointed former National Unity Platform and People Power Movement diehard Ssempala Kigozi aka Ssajjalyabeene as the new RDC for Mpigi.

Kigozi is the former Member of Parliament for Makindye Ssabagabo in the 10^th parliament.

Ahead of the 2021 parliamentary elections, Kigozi crossed from the Democratic Party to National Unity Platform under Robert Kyagulanyi, aka Bobi Wine.

His efforts to be the party flag bearer for Makindye Ssabagabo was nipped from its buds after he was rejected by the party's vetting committee for David Sserkenya.

He argued that the criteria used to hand the NUP flag to Kawalya is contestable, which has prompted him to run as an independent which he subsequently lost.
