KAMPALA. A senior government analyst told Buganda Road Magistrate's Court in Kampala on Thursday that exhibits recovered from the home of former Sports Club Villa manager are similar to devices used in committing sodomy.
Mr Justus Ocom of the government analytical laboratory was testifying in the trial of Mr Christopher Mubiru, a former Sports Club Villa manager, on charges of sodomising male and female youths.
Mr Ocom said he received an assortment of drugs (pain killers), dermatological creams and chloroform, among others, to examine and make a report on the effects they have on a human being.
He explained that the dermatological creams are used by sodomisers to ease anal penetration while the pain killers are used to reduce the pain associated with anal sexual intercourse.
However, when the defence lawyer, Mr Andrew Kaweesi, asked Mr Ocom whether the same exhibits can be used for other activities other than sodomy, he agreed.
Another state witness, Dr Peter Kitayibwa, a senior police forensic pathologist, testified he was tasked to examine Mubiru's mental status which he found normal.
Mubiru is accused of having sexual intercourse with a male person against the order of nature contrary to Section 145(a) of the Penal Code Act. He was arrested last year upon his return from a trip abroad.
Magistrate Lillian Bucyana adjourned the case to April 10.
