Police surrounds Amama Mbabazi's Go Forward head office

Police operatives dressed in civilian wear surrounded Amama Mbabazi's Go Forward offices in Nakasero on Tuesday evening.

The operatives are believed to have gone to arrest members of Mbabazi's security detail who were involved in the brutal assault of NRM supporters in Ntungamo District on Sunday.

A swarm of Museveni supporters on Sunday invaded Amama Mbabazi's convoy, sparking off a fight between the youth who were dressed in yellow NRM T-shirts and Mbabazi's security personel.

The scuffle was later taken a notch higher when an unknown group of assailants, identified as Mbabazi's Kiboko squad appeared and started beating up all the people who were dressed in yellow.

A number of people were injured and hospitalized.

Police chief Gen Kale Kayihura on Monday travelled to Ntungamo where he ordered that the victims be transported by a chopper to Mulago hospital and pledged to arrest all the members of Mbabazi's security detail that were filmed beating up civilians.
