{UAH} THERE CAN'T BE A BESIGYE/MUSEVENI DIALOGUE:
''My attention has been drawn to a shouting headlines in a Luganda tabloid that "Museveni starts talks with Besigye".
This is not true and, I believe, is intended to deliberately mislead it's readers.
The entire leadership of FDC and I have consistently made it clear that there can't be talks between Museveni and myself on the national political impasse.
There is nothing personal between me and Mr Museveni that we would be talking about between the two of us.
We have always made it clear that the very serious national political issues need to be discussed transparently in a structured National Dialogue involving all stakeholders.
Since 2011, all the political parties that were represented in parliament agreed on the framework for such a Dialogue. FDC and myself have maintained that, even now, that framework should remain the basis for any Dialogue.
Accordingly, no talks can take place between Mr Museveni and myself outside that very clear and transparent framework.
Meantime, the people of Uganda must intensify the struggle for the full control of our country and our national institutions. We shall win by defiance and not compliance!
There is no doubt that change is coming! God bless Uganda.''
