customer service is generally better in the US shops, but not in airlines. It's not only your lawyer fees if you lose. It's the counter-damages that the other side could claim against you, plus court fees. It deters many people from going against big companies unfortunately. But yes, if you do win in the US, you will get a much bigger compensation compared to a similar case in Europe.
