{UAH} Nancy Pelosi in a difficult position regarding impeachment?

Not really.

In fact Donald Trump's arrogance, incompetence, and mendacity have actually made her job much easier.

Let's review:

1. Prior to the Ukraine debacle, Pelosi was struggling to restrain elements within the Democratic party who wanted Trump to be impeached for the Mueller investigation findings, and violations of the Emoluments Clause. However Ukraine provided an essentially open and shut case of abuse of power, and that made setting up an impeachment inquiry much easier.
2. Trump is genuinely disliked by a sizable number of people in power. If he was an amiable and affable man, then even if he was a criminal, people would have a difficult time backing impeachment efforts. However Trump routinely insults, demeans, and humiliates people, which assists Pelosi in her efforts to impeach him.
3. Donald Trump isn't very smart. An intelligent person would say almost nothing to give their opponents little to no idea as to what they were thinking. An intelligent person would have sought compromises that would slow, or even halt, the impeachment process. And an intelligent person would attempt to win over current opponents among voters to bolster his or her support, and thus make impeachment more difficult. Fortunately for Nancy Pelosi, Trump isn't competent enough to do any of those things.
4. Trump doesn't listen to his advisers. Despite dozens of personal lessons that should demonstrate to him that his judgment is flawed, at best, Trump continues to operate as he's the smartest person in the room. All Speaker Pelosi has to do is to encourage Trump to continue in that vein, and have him avoid listening to advice which might help him.
5. Trump won't take a break from screwing up. What is ignored by most Trump supporters is that he won't stop making mistakes, or committing potentially impeachable offenses. If he did that, then the current matter would have a difficult struggle. However Trump being Trump, he's continuing to mess up, and Nancy Pelosi case is being made for her.

Speaker Pelosi isn't in a difficult position.

Trump provided her with the cudgel that she needed to bash him.Trump supporters have made it abundantly clear that seeking out their votes is pointless, and so shouldn't be a priority. And Trump is an unlikable individual, whose own staff is fleeing his proximity at an alarming pace.

Frankly, impeachment is a foregone conclusion at this point, and it will soon be up to the Senate to hold a trial where they are going to have to make it clear that they have voted to retain Donald Trump for reasons other than crass political gains.

Not a bad position for Pelosi to be in at all.
