{UAH} KIBULI SHEIKHS GANG UP ON IHK AS DRIVER CONFIRMS: MY BOSS SUCCUMBED TO CORONAVIRUS
By Mulengera Reporters
Supreme Mufti Kasule Ndirangwa has, through his Secretary General Sheikh Setyabule Kigozi, insisted that the management of International Hospital Kampala (IHK) must officially communicate to his office what exactly killed Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata so that the leadership of the Islamic Faith, which he professed, is enabled to comprehensively explain to the public what exactly killed their beloved cleric.
This demand by Ndirangwa, who continues to engage with authorities at IHK, is supported by Deputy Supreme Mufti Mohammed Kibaate and other Sheikhs who were close friends of the late. But IHK Publicist Peter Mulindwa says the certificate containing cause of death is a sensitive document which the hospital can't just give to anyone except close family members or anyone the deceased recommends before his death. In his case, Muzaata recommended his diver and close acquaintance Sowedi Muwonge who was the closet person to him for the two weeks he was hospitalized at the Kisugu-based elite hospital.
On why they didn't treat Muzaata's body as expected of all other COVID19 victims, Muwonge says the government health officials told them they were free to go and bury Muzaata when and how they wished as long as they didn't open the body unsealing it from the bag in which it had been wrapped. Muwonge says as people close to Muzaata, they considered that (not unsealing the bag in which the body had been wrapped) as complying enough with the MoH SOPs governing the handling of COVID19 dead bodies. That they were told the GoU arrangement of conducting the burial on behalf of the bereaved family was abandoned long time ago because government doesn't have money implying they were free to bury their Sheikh Muzaata as they pleased provided they don't unseal the burial bag.
Muwonge's narrative is corroborated by the 36-year-old widow Kulthum Nabunya (Muzaata's wife for 20 years since the year 2000) who says the deceased contracted COVID19 which was the reason the IHK doctors gave to her while justifying their decision to deny her audience with or access to him. Muzaata's workmates at Kibuli in the Supreme Mufti's office, where he worked as PRO, inadvertently corroborate this too by disclosing that they were never allowed any access to their man for the weeks he was at IHK though the hospital never disclosed to them what he was suffering from.
The entire Muzaata IHK bill came to Shs88m all of which was paid by his secret friend Gen YK Museveni though his loyal servant Gen Proscovia Nalweyiso who also maintains the outspoken cleric died of COVID. As someone who often spoke to Muzaata on phone and was entrusted with paying his medical bills, Nalweyiso rightly asserts that no one should contradict her narrative regarding cause of death.
Kulthum adds that because Muzaata contracted and died of COVID19, the prudent thing to do would have been to have the entire Kawempe Kate Falaawo residence, where he lived in a frail condition prior to his IHK admission, fumigated by uniquely specialized experts from the Ministry of Health to avoid exposing people/mourners who eventually congregated there during the bereavement period. This wasn't done and Gen Nalweyiso, out of compassionate concerns, fears that many people must have been exposed to infection risk during the Kibuli prayers, Kigoogwa burial and vigil at Muzaata's home. The crisis or dilemma for concerned government officials like Nalweyiso is that there are many Coronavirus skeptics even among Muzaata family members whose unchanging narrative is that their man was poisoned. Ironically, nobody has yet got the guts to disclose who poisoned him and why
