AM I ALLOWED TO TAKE A SELFIE WITH MY TICKED BALLOT?
By law, in Uganda, voting is by Secret Ballot, this means that it is only you supposed to see and know who you have voted for.
It is an offence for anyone to force you or to try and find out who you have ticked or marked on a ballot paper as it would go against the principle of voting by secret ballot. Therefore, although there is no law against taking a photo of a ballot paper that is blank, it may be taken as illegal to take and share a marked ballot paper.
However, the law does allow you to share a declaration form (one showing the winner at a polling station) especially if you are an agent of a candidate.
