Whistleblower Or Traitor? Marjorie Taylor Greene Slams Biden Administration's Double Standards In Leak Scandal

Prominent conservative representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, on Thursday, expressed her support for 21-year-old Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira, who faces charges of leaking highly sensitive Pentagon intelligence documents.

Greene criticized the Biden administration's treatment of Teixeira, likening it to that of a "traitor and criminal.".

In a tweet, Greene (R-Ga.) stated, "Jake Teixeira is white, male, Christian, and antiwar. That makes him an enemy to the Biden regime." Greene, a staunch opponent of U.S. military aid to Ukraine in its efforts to repel a Russian invasion, has previously referred to the Biden administration's involvement in the conflict as "a proxy war with Russia."

Biden's actions in Ukraine and insinuated that the Biden administration is "the real enemy." Greene continued, "Ask yourself who is the real enemy? A young low level national guardsman? Or the administration that is waging war in Ukraine, a non-NATO nation, against nuclear Russia without war powers?"

Greene also questioned the efficiency with which the alleged Pentagon document leaker was caught in contrast to the ongoing search for the individual responsible for leaking the Supreme Court's majority draft opinion in a landmark case last year. In another tweet, she wrote, "They couldn't find the Supreme Court leaker who put Supreme Court Justices lives in danger, but magically, they can find 21-year-old low level National Guardsman 'responsible' for exposing the truth about Ukraine."

Furthermore, Greene, who is a member of the House Oversight and Homeland Security committees, drew comparisons between Teixeira and former US Marine Corps officer Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller, who faced disciplinary actions in 2021 after publicly criticizing his superiors over the botched US withdrawal from Afghanistan. She posited whether Teixeira's actions could be seen as those of another whistleblower, though he is "being treated like a traitor and a criminal."

Greene then directed her criticism towards the Biden administration and the Department of Defense, stating that they are the ones who should be held accountable for their actions in Ukraine. She even suggested that President Biden should face impeachment over the war in Ukraine.

Teixeira was arrested at his mother's residence in North Dighton, Massachusetts, on Thursday after being implicated in the release of numerous sensitive US intelligence documents. The young Air National Guardsman is accused of disclosing national security secrets to members of a private Discord channel he had created in 2020. The leaked information was subsequently circulated on other Discord channels and websites, marking the most significant national security breach in at least a decade.
