NATEETE SITE MOSQUE
It is located along Kigala Road off Kampala Nateete Wakaliga Road in Nateete Church Zone and Parish in Rubaga Municipality, Kampala. It derives its name from Luteete (bush). This Area was bushy when Ahmed Bin Ibrahim and Sinay Bin Amir and their Caravan Camped in this Place after walking from Mulungu in Munyonyo. The first Mosque to be built in this place was grass thatched in 1865. It is here that the first circumcision was done using 'emuli' (sharp reeds) and it is also here that Arabs introduced Islamic rituals of burial.
This Place is is where the sixty Five and Others were Martyred during the religious wars that led ti the overthrow of Kabaka Kalema. Today a Modern Mosque Commonly known as Nateete Regional Mosque and a Primary School were Built in Commemoration of Muslims Killed in this Place.
